Do Good

Do Good

Impact, improve, impart life outside of PCC, tangibly and eternally.

We believe that God has equipped and called us to “DO GOOD,” in our own communities and in other parts of the world. Our desire is to meet physical needs while bringing the good news and love of Jesus to all we encounter.

Our unique mission areas of concentration are listed below. See how you can “be the change” and help in these important efforts to make tangible differences and reach people beyond PCC.

Do Good Locally

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Powhatan is a local, independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International who’s mission is “Seeking to put God’s love into action.” Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. PCC partners with local Habitat efforts to build affordable houses for low income families who are willing to help in the construction of their homes.

Do Good Regionally

Disaster Relief

When devastation occurs in our region, PCC is ready to respond. We partner with Virginia Baptist Disaster Relief, God’s Pit Crew, and other local agencies to organize response teams and deliver the most impact in the face of overwhelming circumstances.

Options for participating include donating supplies, participating on teams that travel to work and support, and giving financially.

If you feel called toward participating in disaster relief, contact us and we will put you on a list for contact when disaster happens.

Student Missions – Regional

Regionally, student ministry teams tackle mission opportunities — basic home repairs like roofing, painting, constructing decks — along with adult volunteers through para-church organizations every summer. In past years, PCC’s student mission team has been the largest in the country within its partnering organization.

Do Good Internationally

Student Missions – International

Annually in the summer, PCC Students travel internationally to “Do Good” in parts of the world often forgotten. Past trips have included Spain, Puerto Rico, Macedonia, and more!

Just outside the luxury of the tourist resorts, you will encounter the extreme poverty of the country of Belize. PCC has been going to support and help Calvary Baptist Church in Belize city reach out to the physical and spiritual needs of this community.

Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the world with 58% of the people living on less than $1 a day. PCC partners with Together for Tanzania, a non-profit volunteer organization, that provides educational and missional support to people in Tanzania so they are better equipped to care for their families, serve their communities and impact positive changes in their country.

Eastern Europe still bears the scars of the former Soviet Union’s iron fisted grip. Moldova is the smallest and poorest of countries that came out of that era. PCC is working through and with JMI (Justice and Mercy International) to impact and improve the lives of children formerly in government-run orphanages.
