Students

At PCC, students (grades 6-12) are invited to hang out, have fun, and grow together as they learn what it means to have a faith in Jesus of their own.

This begins on Sunday mornings, where students worship in our main services and volunteer on ministry teams to make church happen. Then, throughout the week, student nights are THE place where they can really be themselves without judgment, and without just “being a number”. This is where any question or thought about faith, life, the Bible, and God are all welcome and encouraged. These fun, authentic groups led by PCC adult leaders are where all of these things will happen!

Additionally, students across PCC’s campuses gather for a few powerful events each year–a retreat, a summer mission trip (grades 6-college), and more. Additionally, campuses may offer events like bonfires, game nights, worship gatherings, and tubing trips down the river. To find those, check out upcoming student events.

Ellis Hopson

Student Director

Ellis’ first PCC experience was in 2013 at the Riverside Campus, but it wasn’t until several years later that he came to fully know and decide to follow Jesus. A byproduct of PCC’s mission to reach people who don’t go to church, Ellis is passionate about carrying out that mission today. This is especially meaningful to him when it comes to his role as Student Director at PCC.

Ellis is driven to do his part to create an environment at every PCC campus where students feel welcome, accepted, can have fun, and want to invite their friends. His goal is for PCC Students to be a place where teenagers can establish their relationship with Jesus as a foundation for their lives, and to make their faith their own as they enter adulthood. Ellis loves doing this by coaching and investing in his group of Student Coordinators, creating structures and procedures to produce excellence, and by writing and delivering relevant and relatable messages to help students apply the teachings of the Bible to their daily lives.

Even above his role in ministry, Ellis’ most important and valued role is husband to his wife, Abby. In his spare time, you’ll probably find him exercising, watching TV & movies, and playing video games.
