Accepting God's Love through Jesus
God's love comes to us without condition. But how do we accept God's love? Below, Pastor Brian discusses the steps of faith, what acceptance looks like, and ways to take those steps.
I am ready to make a commitment to follow Jesus.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. – Romans 10:9-10
Congratulations! This is a huge step in your faith journey and we are here for you! To make your commitment, express your heart to God through your own prayer of commitment, following along with the ABCD elements Brian describes in his video above.
If having the words is a challenge, we’ve listed a prayer below OR you can allow Brian to guide you and pray for you through this commitment prayer video.
Today I am coming into the reality that you really do love me that much. I don’t have to understand it or even believe I’m worth it. But you DO think I’m worth it. And I’d like to have your love in my life. So today, I receive it. I confess to you that I have been a wrongdoer, at least at some point in my life, and I would like to get it right. God, if you’ll point the way, I’ll follow you to my last breath, knowing that that’s not my last breath; because your demonstration of love destroyed death, destroyed sin, and destroyed the separation between us. Please be in my life from this day forward and I will serve you with all that I have left.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
SHARE YOUR DECISION
I am ready for baptism.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. – Matthew 28:19-20
If you’ve made the decision to follow Jesus, baptism is one of the most meaningful next steps you can take. Our baptisms are public opportunities for you to share your faith, and for your church, family, and friends to celebrate what God is doing in your life. We look forward to celebrating with you!
I still have questions.
Then, after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. – Luke 2:46
